I have never done it in the way I have heard about it but one day I was in the woods and I could hear something very faint but was able to follow it to a box hidden under a log. That's how I found out about geocaching

That would be a really cool way to find out about it. Its such a neat little thing, and gets people out exploring and hiking and moving around.
