In a bad place emotionally and mentally

Natasha

Our van was vandalized and we did not realize it until we got to the convenience store to put gas in it. We put 10 gallons of what is basically liquid gold (gasoline) into our van. When we were finished pumping we saw a river of gasoline running down the pavement. Someone had punctured the gas tank. We rolled it into a parking space and told the attendant what had happened and she responded with an "ok". We told her we would have to return to get it the next morning because it was already pretty late. She said that was fine. The next day we returned to find that the van had been towed. The manager informed us that they had to call the fire department out to "neutralize" the gasoline and to clean it up. They wouldn't tell us where our van was towed until we agreed to give them our personal information. Well, I'm sorry, but I don't give that info out to just anyone. They informed us that it was an EPA issue and SOMEONE had to pay. Well, I guess they should have informed their attendant what to do in a situation like that because the regular joes of the world do not know what to do in that type of situation. Whatever. Anyway, 3 days later, still no van, possible citation, and a general crummy outlook on the assholes of the world. Police are not helping either. Now my one year old has the flu AND strep throat at the same time. I have had no sleep and I want to crucify the store owner. Any ideas what the heck I need to do from here? Keep in mind I am in the state of Georgia in America and the laws here are so ridiculous and one law contradicts another law and the right hand never knows what the left hand is doing so it makes it impossible for the butt hurt citizens to get any relief.

G'day Natasha

Sorry to hear of your dilemma Natasha but we need to accept our circumstances & move on as quickly as possible otherwise we will get our nickers in a knot to no avail, some of these circumstances are out of our hand & we usually feel helpless & alone & sometimes we will lash out.

You have got to accept you havent got control & that we live in a dictatorship that we can do little about, sorry again for your plight but you will get through it.

Love
Mathew

Thanks Matthew. This is basically what I have been telling my husband. I just haven't been listening to my own advice. I just don't know where to go from here.

What a time you have been having Natasha :(. I don't live in the states so have no idea how exactly to help, but the things I would find out for sure:
1. Did they have any legal signs stating they could tow your car away after you parked it, even after the fire dept came? I don't know what a EPA is.

2. How do you really know it was towed by anyone, as maybe the attendant has kept the van and just wants to make a quick buck?

3. Can't you contact the police or solicitor because it's as if your car was stolen in a way? Or get some sort of advice

4. Are there any CCTV (closed circuit television) in the surrounding area that may be able to really show you what happened that night?

5. Contact the fire department to see if they really neutralised anything that night, maybe they did, maybe they didn't?

These are only guesses, hope it works out well for you. Hope the kids get well very soon, but I'm sure you're showing them with lots of love and mummy kisses :)
