Is It Just Me?

Maggie on Advertising, Common Sense, Money Managemen, Education

Who else is tired of the BS advertising on our television networks? I mean, really? Who believes this stuff? Is it just me or can everybody tell the mascara commercial models are wearing false eyelashes? Who wears those bright colors around their eyes? Hookers, that's who. Can people REALLY make over $4500 per week working from home? And why are there so many medicine ads during the national news? Who REALLY owns and controls those newscasts? These seem like basic things, who are they trying to fool? Didn't there used to be a "Truth in Advertising" law or act or something to protect the public? What the heck happened to that? Is this country SO out of WACK, that we will believe anything? We believed those telemarketers when they called and said, "oh, refinance your home and take the cash to buy something wonderful for your family"...and where did THAT get us? Hundreds of thousands of empty homes, foreclosed on, with weeds growing so tall they bring down the rest of the neighborhood homes values. And where are those families who bought into this scam? Did they do something wonderful with that extra money? NO...they went out and charged up their credit even more! Where will the insanity end? We need those laws to protect the lame citizens who have no common sense and we need to start educating our kids to learn how to handle money!! WOW...what a concept! I have NEVER heard of any high school in these United States that teaches kids COMMON SENSE! HEY, here's an idea...a course in high school called, Common Sense. They could cover money matters, relationship situations, safe sex, getting a good job and other things we really don't seem to care about. Other countries do it...why don't we? No, we send out credit cards to college students with instructions to "live the good life, be good to yourself, you deserve it." The bottom line is we need to invest in the education our kids get...in the public schools! Is it just me? Or do we need some change...NOW!
