Recently Letterman and now Steve phillips(Baseball Analyst) were tagged for having relationships with collegeues.Isit because these guys were married or more so the fact they had the interest in some one they worked with. How is this all coming out now and what importance does it have? I think these types of relationships exist all the time... Were is the relavence... aside form dragging shame to a person and hurting those who are subject to this furhter. Hmmmmm

it's a big deal cuz they are celebs, it brings TRP to TV and Hits to internet portals.. simple as that!

Relationships. Life is about living and loving. Celebrity simply makes it more obvious when the eyes start t wander.
Once married couples were expected "to grow together overtime."
Now, Society seems to suggest that "Relationships is a Car Dealership" and every three or four years - you are supposed to "Check Out The New Models."
Kind of makes you wonder where Society is headed if "Trading Up" or "Trading In" becomes commonplace. It would even put a new spin on the term "Free Markets."

i agree, this is the society of today. gone are the days when our elders would say, "marriage isn't like a hot rice on a mouth that could easily be spit out". marriage nowadays are just trial and error basis to many, which is so sad to think of.

@ Like it Is - What has changed, it seems to me, is perception and acceptance. It's unfortunate, because I believe it's harmful to women and ultimately harmful to society at large.

Cute sense of humour. It's not quite that bad, though: from all the studies I've read, the majority of married Americans still do live together faithfully, believe it or not!

I think that if it happens to two people in a row, that is just coincidental. Nothing more. But since many have such needs (especially celebrities) it is common place and may look quite exaggerated over time because it looks extremely repetitive.

Issues such as these have been popping up constantly. It's just the media trying to get more profit from hungry gossiping people who have nothing better to do in their lives than to watch other people's, rich and famous, lives go down in "flames". The juicier the news, the more it will be publicized. Because of this, and the amount of "power" the media has over their viewers, it is changing society's norms, especially regarding relationships and what it means to have and maintain a relationship.
Read upon the different roles of husband and wives back in the 60s, 70s, 80s, etc. and compare them to today.
