Hi, I have a personal blog with a custom domain name too! I don't know if this is strange but I think it makes blogging more fun when you have your own domain. Will check your site out.

I know you are saying the words you should being a passionate blogger, but you are loosing confidence isn't it ?
I have many blogs and all are running on custom domain and also shelf hosted.
That's the reason I'm making a living online.
Believe in you and the stuffs you are involved in - then see you will get it easy to touch your goals even the bigger ones.

I would like to say - Don't save on hosting if you are really serious about the blogging or any type of business online or just leave this field and do what you loves to do.

Go ahead friends who knows when you will step out of your comfort zone you will see success a real success and would be famous as a blogger.

Yes, there's a lot of personal bloggers who own a custom domain. Only a few has a self-hosted blog.

I have a custom domain blog but it's not self hosted. I plan to move to a self hosted platform before next month runs out. But you can still check my blog ~ http://bloggers-club.com

Mind changing you blog theme..there are lots of free great template for blogger. Anyway, content is more important but then the blog reader will notice your blog design firsts.

@Matt - thanks for your life changing compliment for my blog, I'm preparing to move it on wordpress shelf hosted account very soon.
Possibly in this week only and then you would love to be there and finding some error to comment here to stay tuned until I announces that I'm moved to WP.

@Abdul - If you are not giving any time to your blog then it's even I agree with your intentions, but if you are investing some time there then you should be rewarded and it's possible only you will have faith in your writing and write for helping others.
Blogs are a good tool to be connected, it's not for money making but due to high value interaction place advertisers gives good offers to blog owners and then it all goes towards money making blogging.
So do blogging for helping yourself in being connected with you friends and family or do promote your own business or any social cause.
In the mean time if advertisers mails you then what is bad in earning some extra bucks for paying the domain and hosting costs ?
