Thanks for submitting your blog Cheska. Your writing is good, but I must say, I don't like that you don't use caps at the beginning of your sentences. It makes it hard to read.
Otherwise, your design is very simple. I like that there's no clutter, but your header could use more pizazz and you should consider using pictures. People are visual creatures.
I'm glad you enjoyed my site. I like your blog, free wallpapers are always in high demand. You seem to have some very nice ones.
If I could make a suggestion, I'd say to redesign and put your blog in three columns. Create a beautiful banner that represents your website for the header.
Place ads in side columns and between posts, and place your Facebook and other share widgets at the top of one of the columns.
Did you know that your current advert banner features an ad that offers wallpapers? When you click on it, thinking it is a link within the page, you are redirected to a google search (and off your website)
Hi there, so sorry I skipped you, I just realized this as I was reading through. I plan on answering in the order that was posted.
I'm not sure I like the layout of your page. I have read somewhere that adverts directly below the post title bar make more money, but that is probably only because people click it mistakenly.
Personally, as a reader, I really dislike them. It really bugs me to click a link, thinking it's a sub-menu on your site, and being taken away to a google search.
A clean, two column approach would probably work best, with adds on the side and between posts. Also display your social sharing and joining widgets on the side, so users don't have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page to see them.
I was particularly interested in your artwork. How do you make these pictures? They are very good. I can't draw or paint, but I do use digital photography to create interesting effects:
However, the part of my blog that I'm particularly proud of, because nobody else seems to be doing it, is my recordings of wildlife around where I live. If you like to hear birds singing, this is a good example:
Thanks Dennis. I use a variety of processes to create my images. I have several iPhone/iPad apps that I run images through. My favorite drawing/editing tool is the art studio app.
I like your pictures. It is fun to play with pics to create something new. It has become a new favorite pass time of mine!
Your blog is very simple and clean. Being a travel blog of sorts, you could have more pictures, more visual punch. Keep in mind the length of your posts. More than 600-800 word posts should be divided in several posts.
I would also suggest moving your GFC widget closer to the top of the page, and using the blogger top posts widget with pics.
People are visual creatures. Plus, with Pinterest growing, it is a great way to get free advertising for your sight... But you cant't pin just words!
Hi Matt! I had visited your blog the other day, I enjoyed it very much. One thing to note is length of your post. Edit yourself and try to keep posts between 600-800 words, most readers will lose interest.
It helps to break up an especially long post with pics. Also, using bold or larger text breaks up the monotony of the small type.
Love that Obama picture. You should definitely pin that on Pinterest. It will go viral for sure!
hi please check out my blog Follow me and I'l do same and will spread the gospel about your blog on my twitter page. http://bthemesandtricks.blogspot.com
Great blog Samuel. Your design is loaded, but still streamlined. You seem to offer a lot of valuable information and I was surprised to see that it is tech info without being dry.
I appreciate a touch of personality in my reading material.
Hi Robert. Thanks for submitting your blog. I'm guessing English is not your first language, but I would say this is the area you most need to work on. If you wish to create a real presence on the web, grammar and spelling are key. Also, while keywords are important, repeating them over and over in an article makes it redundant and obvious.
Try an online thesaurus for ideas on how to reformulate certain keywords. (This is based on the Pink Article, where you repeatedly said "pink loses the 55 pounds she put on during pregnancy".
Repeating it doesn't make it more effective. However, if you'd also used "pink sheds pregnancy weight, or pink loses baby weight" you would have had two more possible searches leading to your sight.
Also, I have to tell you, I hate header banner ads. This is prime ad space on a blog, and the only thing you should be advertising is your blog! This banner should be an indication of what the website has to offer, and when the first thing I see is an ad, it makes me feel like this is just a for money website, and from there, the page has to work twice as hard to gain my trust or approval.
Greta blog Furita, very cute concept. I love your images, I can certainly appreciate how long they must take to create. Not many notes, the only thing I can think to say is to make sure to read and re-read before posting, as I found a few typos. (And I'm sure there are a million on mine -lol!)
Thanks for liking my fb page. I've followed you through GFC, I really enjoyed your blog. You have a nice writing style, and we seem to have similar tastes in movies!
One thing though, and I'm not sure if this is because I'm on my iPad, but the blog seems to be squishes to one side, making it very small. You can adjust this in advance layout settings, by adjusting the width of your page.
Really love the design though, how did you achieve the slideshow?
thanks! i'll try to work on the layout width. nice to hear you enjoyed my blog. :) i actually downloaded the template online and placed my own customizations.
Haha love the title of your blog! I liked your blog very much, your writing style is nice, though I noticed in your post "ten things to know before visiting Italy", you repeatedly wrote you instead of your. When speaking about something that belongs to someone, you should use your.
Otherwise, clean, simple design is great, but I wonder why there aren't more pics in your posts? You're in Italy... Break out that camera! I want to see the landscape, visit the markets, see those gems hidden down small paths!
This would also direct more google traffic your way, as people probably search for images of Italy constantly.
I have to say, sites like yours have a harder time gaining my trust, as I always think the author is just out to make money, therefore trying to scam me.
You gained my trust with articles like "Get rich quick - it doesn't exist!" and "How to spot a scam site"
It got me thinking that if you put something like that below your blog title, you might gain a little instant trust from your visitors.
Something like "I'm not going to get you rich quick, but I can show you how to turn your hobby into an extra source of income, and give you other great advice about making money online"
That being said, I've followed you on GFC. Always like hearing about opportunities!
ei thanks! I always state in most of my articles that getting rich quick is not easy... most of the ways I am referring are trusted and proven, but... its still not easy..
for me blogging is still the number 1 way to make money online.. thanks for the review :-)
I love your blogspiration page, the collage of images is awesome!
I don't really have anything negative to say about your site, I enjoy your pictures, and I love fashion and girly products. Your design is cute and clean.
I would tell you to watch your spelling and grammar, but you mentioned below English is your second language. Still, if you can enlist a friend to read over before you post, you could possible avoid some of the mistakes.
Thank you so much Felicia! Hehe I try my best with regards to the spelling and grammar, the spelling might be little things like we say moisturise with an s and I think some countries spell it with a z, or something like colour, is sometimes spelt color? So that would be a country-thing LoL, but grammar yes definitely, the was / were / their / there oi it gets difficult sometimes ;) but I really appreciate it and will definitely try and improve on that. Thanks for the GFC following I appreciate it loads!
English is my second language too, but google proves to be my new BFF, I'm known for googling something like: what does ... mean. Use it, seriously, it will help you tremendously. And Good luck!
Your site seems nice, but I'd be careful with attribution. For example, your October 19th post is a comic from SMBC (www.smbc-comics.com) but you've given credit to cheezburger.com
Thanks for all of your submissions everyone. I will get to them all, but I'm busier on the weekends, so it might take a few days! Feel free to keep submitting!
