According to Wikipedia definition of Love, the later is "an emotion of strong affection and personal attachment. Love is also a virtue representing all of human kindness, compassion, and affection; and "the unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another".

I may care and like certain people, treat them with strong affection and personal attachment and not call it love, I have another word for it - mutual respect.

Why did we need to label it as love ?

If to hate or simply not like certain people do we deprive them of human kindness, compassion or affection ? Are we gonna let them hurt alone ? I find it hard to ignore them even if giving them the respect they deserve it's almost impossible for me.

And what's the deal of getting everybody a soul-mate or simply a better half ? Is it so hard to believe that some people do better by themselves ?

It drives me crazy when people ask me why I do prefer to be alone ? Every time I must come up with some lies or sugarcoat the truth of the fact that I love to be alone (and with a couple of friends).

Love is within a person's personality; education, freedom, culture and choice. Every human being's different from one another. Thus, our personalities differs from what we feel about love.

To be in love, one has to feel it unconditionally towards another human being who's capable of loving back.

Love has only one meaning but human beings executes it in different forms, shapes, weights and degrees. That even, people who are in love cannot fathom their actuation towards it.

Love is tangible or intangible - it's really a freedom of choice of what you meant by it and performing into action/s by what you perceived with your personality as a person.

You have to feel it before you can define it.

and it's true love is and should be unconditional but there some who have unreal expectations from their loved ones, and if they fail to rise up to the expectations they're deprived of that love, they get less

and i've felt it, it was twice, it wasn't mutual, and it was painful

Find a person who have the same or similar to, with what you expect about love. It's a two-way process wherein both feel the same way, show and act according to you and for him.

There's oneness of emotions, minds and all.

the thing for the next 10 years i wanna be alone, to try to undo the damage that was done by my parents, to get rid of mummy and daddy issues, then reassess and maybe fall in love again :)

You're using wikipedia to define the meaning of love? Anyways, there are many kinds of love. Agape, Eros, and Philia. Philia is (keeping things simple) a fondness and/or appreciation for a friend and/or family member. Eros is passionate, and very intense desire for something or someone. And Agape is love for God or for all of humanity. So... There's many definitions of love, it's just the person who defines what love is.

However, when a person doesn't feel love because sometime in his/her past something happened; then the person's going be even more careful about love. And, it is not only human nature that people have to be together. It's more animal instincts. We need to populate this world to have more human beings, just like animals do.

All this love thing would take years to discuss. Philosophers, Psychologists, and many other professions are still studying love of the individual, animals and of a group.

Seriously though, you shouldn't worry your mind regarding love. If you don't want to be in love you don't have to. It's your choice. No one should tell you that you should. I know many people that put their career and goals first rather than love. Love will come when it has to, so don't "force" yourself to love.

And when people ask you why you want to be alone just tell them: "I'd rather be rich."

There are many different kinds of love but being 'in love' is something quite different. It's about as far from 'mutual respect' as the Moon is from Mars. :-))

well, they shouldn't have their definition for it, some people use name calling and maybe hit you once in a while and still say they love you.

Well... if one's in love he or she definitely knows what love is. And if one doesn't, there's no point in telling them what it is, how it feels like and how it's all made :)
