Tried most methods except one (advertising on Google, Facebook or Yahoo). from posting regularly to sharing on social bookmarking sites and commenting on other blogs. in conclusion, posting regularly and submitting to search engines and networks only works in the long run (could be a very, very long run) but paid advertising works as long as your ad shows regularly and its more effective.
I'm asking if anyone has a very effective method of getting traffic to a website for free.
Same old stuff, write content which attracts people and makes them want to come back, original content from your own personal point of view. Write as often as possible, change subjects, move through several fields but still have a core interest.
Comment on other blogs where the comment and their field of interest is relevant , keep social media up to date all the time and react to others. Bring out quality content quickly and advertise it (free of charge) in the places people really go and where it will be seen at the right time of day or night for your intended audience.
