I'm new to blogging and wondering what approach some of you take when moderating comments. I did a post about whacky wildlife behavior with the phrase "the gods must be crazy" in the title and had a christian zealot sportsman post a long and nutty "god story". I have not approved it but have begun to wonder if it might not be interesting to release it and see what happens.
Thoughts?
I allow people to have a point of view on my blog even if they don't agree with me. But I do have a rule that I won't tolerate any person personally attacking someone for a different point of view.
I have so far, only deleted spam comments, which is not very often.
This comment you have not yet approved may be very interesting to other people and could start a dialogue, it really depends on what was said.
It is your blog and you need to make decisions on what you want to do.

Just read your post about 'the gods must be crazy'.. and the comment you mentioned. I don't see it as bad at all. It's looks like someone is just referring to how God and through prayer a man managed to kill a bear etc etc... I don't think it was a rant. But it is my personal opinion though and I could be wrong.
I let all pass, agree with me or not. Only personal attacks on me or others are dropped into the memory hole.
Good points and you're right "rant" wasn't really the best description... mainly I was concerned about the length. Thanks for sharing your perspectives!
