Thing is, Photography is an art, if done correctly. I still remember going to a community center where they were having a photography club. At ~30, I was the youngest person in the room by about 20 to 25 years. There was one woman who was a painter, who had problems with calling her paintings "Art" and her photography "Photography." Those old guys were ready to lynch her a few times. She's say, "I made this photo look like my Art," and those old guys would start groaning....
I completely agree with your first statement. However, in looking for a snappy header for this thread, I may have misled you. I wasn't suggesting that photography isn't a discrete art form. I don't know whether you checked out the post, but what I try to do [it's up to others to decide whether I succeed] is to mimic abstract expressionism in a photo. In other words, the photos aren't of or about anything.
I did see the post, but yeah, was responding more to the post header, hehe. Enjoyed the photos quite a bit, do love your artistic takes on subjects. But yeah, saw the title and it made me think of that day at the photography club and had to share.
Thank you Peri Alos. There were hyperlinks to earlier posts in the series. Did you check them out? I like to space these posts out, but I have the next set of photos already lined up and will probably post them in January.
