Religion is the result of Power Hungry nature of Man

Sudhir Chauhan says 846 days ago

Early man was bron without religion and then suddenly lot of religion started surfacing on the planet, all with different ideas and principals, but why was religion invented - just to rule man.

Religion is the most powerful institution on this planet today and we all fear it. Man fears uncertainty. did people took advantage of this fear and used religion to control man so that they can rule him?

THINK AND T?HEN COMMENT.

they say religion is the opium of man...but
i do not stand with your opinion at all.
i do not know about all the religions but some of them evolved in the suppression and rebel to the powerful..
no one understands a religion as it should be..
no one knows the ideologies ,principles and there basic differences to the fullest ,thus misinterpreting term religion .and misuse.
and we forget that its the ill will of humans that corrupts the cause not the religion ..
i have faith in my religion not because i am made to do so by some one but because i can see and perceive what religion is teaching to me...

I think all the religions have the same basic principle that 'LIVE AND LET OTHERS LIVE'. Now its up to us that how we look at the religion. i think religion is the only medium to show the faith in almighty. And human gave different names to Almighty as per his language, nothing else.

Gurpreet says 846 days ago

its not just almighty

things are based on raising the level of living .
raising the standards of life, the way a person lives..
rules and regulations ,some things to do ,some things forbidden ,they all have there effects on life if followed with proper knowledge..
and its not just about language...its about definitions also ...they may differ.
but the reason of our existence lies in the deep knowledge of "scientific" religions ....

whether god exists or not... well its not my place to say. no one knows for sure. But the fact is, that with out religion this world would be in chaos. This world is not filled with only good people. with out religion the guilt, that is there originally because of the fact you think someone is watching you or that you would be dammed to hell, would disappear in the hearts of those who are only good because of the fear they have of being punished. As much as i hate to say it the human race is, sadly not fool of angels. There are just as many demons.

so religion is necessary to the survival of society.

Religion, when properly understood and practiced, is good. If only everyone lived by its true definition as The Holy Book defined it: "to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world" and not limit themselves to some weird belief and an equally weird organization to associate with or be a member of, then religion shall have served its purpose which is the general well-being of the human race.

Nice quote from James' epistle, Geo. No man can assert his belief on anyone with success. In the end only God can show you the true path to Him. Religion is fine and dandy, but without Truth, it is vain ritual leading you nowhere. I have been utterly convinced that Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father
