Bible says that Adam and Eve were the only first people on the face of this earth. They had 2 sons Able & Cain. One killed onother. That means that Only Adam, Eve and their 1 son were alive. Then how was the next generation born? was there INCEST that took over? YES? Then are we the products of INCEST. & if NO? Then wat exactly happened / What is the reason That we all are here? Can you THINK ? Is the story of Adam & Eve the THRUTH or BULLSHIT?
If you read further, you see that Adam and Eve had other children. But yes, the children would have had to have breeded with one another at first. But even if the world started by chance, inbreeding would have happened to occur many times over in order for the human species to come into existence. In either case we're all related.
Yes Mr. Somethingclever I am aware about the facts. They had more children of cource BUT the point is how the next generation came. OUT OF INCEST? That's what the question is.
Hi Sachin, I do not know what your religion is but I think phrasing it this way "OUT OF INCEST?" may offend some people. I personal do not believe in a god but I believe religions were created for the purpose of good. As a way to lead people in the direction the leaders of that time believed was the right way. As the stories were created very long ago, you will find that certain things do not make any sense.
With regards to your question, inbreeding isn’t something new. Humans are natural explorers and small groups of people would have probably inbreed to some extend as they formed new communities in new land (if the groups were really small). It has existed for a long time and has been prohibited in most cultures because the offspring had a greater risk of certain genetic disorders. This was also common amongst royalty and nobilities in Egypt (Rulers of the Ptolemaic dynasty), Europe (Jean V of Armagnac).

I don't mean to offend anyone BUT some questions remain unanswered - OR - rather we are fooled by some. I do not believe that people who used to teach *] DO NOT COVET YOUR NEIGHBOUR, MOTHER, SISTER.......Blah Blah Blah.......Would have suported this FOOLING ADAM & EVE story.........Then why is it still there...........OR .......If it is true then ARE WE THE PRODUCTS OF INCEST? ..............

I agree with Darren. These biblical and religious stories are to educate us on morals and to face our problems with honesty. Questioning them without faith is of no use to the person questioning or for the reader. The people who wrote these stories were not idiots. They translated their expeience in to story for for our benefit. So let us read them with faith or stop reding and face life with our own experimentation and face be ready to face the consequence.
Mr. Hariharan, Thank you so much for your answer BUT I really don't understand what you mean to say. 1] You say that these stories are to educate us RIGHT? - What education does the story of Adam & Eve give us? 2] You also put the point forward that we should have faith. - Blind faith is it you are talking about? 3] If we have got to live this life with our experiments and experiences then why should we give much importance to these stories in first place? As I said, these stories were created long ago. If you look closely into any religion, you will find flaws in the stories. At the same time, you will find that there are lessons embedded in these stories. The story of Adam and Eve tells us not to give in to temptation.
Even at this point in time, we are unable to determine how life came about. There are a lot of theories but we're still in the process of finding out the truth. Now imagine people of that time. Some thought that the world was flat.
May be at some point in time one of our ancestors may have been a product of incest. Its not impossible but this has nothing to do with the story about Adam and Eve, which is probably just a story.
Why stop at Adam and Eve? Is it possible that gods are green and have eight hands? What a god with a Falcon's head? Monkey gods? A god that throws lightning?
You mentioned that you are not stuck with a particular religion. I’m fascinated on why are you so offended by this particular story? Why not just take in whatever good the story brings and forget about the flaws?

Even if there was no God - no creator, humanity would have had to be perpetuated by inbreeding: humans can only breed with other humans. When in evolutionary timelines humans would have first came into being they would have had to breed with one another to perpetuate the species. It does not make sense (if there were no grand creater behind it all - if it were only by chance)for different human beings to have been created by chance from different parts of the earth that somehow found one another and had offspring.

Excuse me, but the Bible clearly states that Cain was banished and ran away. Adam and Eve could have easily reproduced and had more babies.
Yes, there was obviously incest in the first 2 or 3 generations of humans.
