SaifZahid on Modernization, Time, Revalution, Media, Children

I remember when 1st time TV came in my house,my neighbors use to come to watch movie on Sunday because not every one had a TV in their houses, phone was not a common thing at that time, rarely i found any car on the road when i go to school on my bicycle, in early 90s i heard from someone that they made something called Computer, it can do every thing what a man even can not do..wow,
well many thing like that have gone through my eyes, i can say i saw the electronics & media revolution has happened in front of me, from TV size Radio till wrist watch size TV...........
but is this good???
where we are going in this race of modernization???
when i see my 4 year old daughter start laptop by her self and start playing girlgames online and some time ask me if the net connection is down cause the game is taking time in loading..... I really can not imagine where all this going to stop,
I m afraid to leave my children to play out side the home even in there age i was out of my home for all eve...
well i have much much to say on this topic but i don't thing that you people have much time to read so please try to help me understand what will be the future of our coming generation??

yes time has changed and its obvious that our coming generation will also change according to time..nothing bad in this but even it should be like this, you play outside your home because there was no other means of entertainment for you but now our children have this facility to spend there time at home...well modernization is good if you know how to manage with it.

Shahin ∙ 24 Aug, 10

We are changed much due to modern gadgets..change should always be welcome..but not to the extent that it should disturb our social pattern or culture..we must know to draw the line where to stop..and we must do what we hope from our kids..

SaifZahid ∙ 24 Aug, 10

hmm...thanks u both, i would like to hear some comments from our male writers :-)

Thiruselvam K ∙ 26 Aug, 10

How can time change? Aren't seconds, minutes, hours, days, months and years still the same. Day follows night and so do the seasons. TIME HAS NOT CHANGED.
Man and woman and child have not changed.SO, WHAT HAS CHANGED? Living styles has changed. Urgency of action and reaction has prompted man to move from cart and wheels to engined vehicles and even more faster electrical means. Speed of communications in the forms of transport and exchange of thoughts and ideas brought about the telephone and eventually the computer. Press a button and e-greetings delivers a birthday or congratulatory wish. SPEED SPEED and SPEED. Living habits and styles have changed. Our life is engulfed and we must swim equally fast within that stream of changing life style or we get left behind. CHANGE WE MUST or we will remain SHORT-CHANGED in life.

Moonomo ∙ 26 Aug, 10

To add with Thiru- SPEED in communication keeping the human more home oriented? Those of us who grew up by playing outside the home and enjoyed the dangers of the unknown- are we now wants our children to keep home for safety?

Human born in cave and making the way of life to keep thyself in the cave again!

Time hasn't changed, doc. We are changing it into a so called "more advance life syle". :)

SaifZahid ∙ 26 Aug, 10

my mother use to say that in her childhood there was no facellities of cooking travelling and for housing but that time they were more free compare to present time, they had time to visit to neibours and relatives, but now our social life limeted till net only, yes i can chat with my friends and relatives, i can call them any time but its defficult to get time to visit them.
I think we are living a virtual life now.

TYPO: facilities

Jolly Princess ∙ 27 Aug, 10

Hmmm... maybe it's just a matter of time management doc if we really want to see them in person. The thing is, chatting online is an alternative and good excuse for "busy" people. If there's a will, there's a way. :)

Jyotsna ∙ 27 Aug, 10

we are changing time..we are changing with time...we are changing for time...we are changing by time.. C time hasn't changed, its constant ! :D

SaifZahid ∙ 27 Aug, 10

jyotsna samae badal gaya hai, ye ek muhawra hai!

Jyotsna ∙ 29 Aug, 10

on a serious note, everything changes...the environment, climate, quality, quantity..everything, and its this change of things that has been changing the humans from the stone age to today's so called 'civilised' lot.

SaifZahid ∙ 29 Aug, 10

but this so called civilization is going to make us robot or you can say fully handicap, is there should e any limit of this changing or not???

Jyotsna ∙ 29 Aug, 10

We are changing with time because our perspective is shaped by our experiences. Its not that time changes but life's experiences that alter our outlook. Life changes and we learn more and more everyday. Perspective really changes with experience not Time.

Moonomo ∙ 30 Aug, 10

Exactly. More we know things less interesting it seems and that changes our perspective.

We tend to find/invent new things to keep us feel different. Though eventually we blame the times that it changed and it's no longer as sweet as it was!

Humans- looks towards the future and blame the past. ;)

The world is really changing and still we don't know on what the consequences are, but in its change we do improve and develop. Technology is now sometimes in control of us and that we don't realize how it also changes us. our characters and emotions being molded in it, and I think its better if we live simple, teaching ourselves to not adopt immediately but instead we should have control on ourselves and upon the change. But I also have a question, Why is it that i always do the wrong thing and change with it even if Im telling "I should do the right thing"? Its always technology changing me an now I think it also controls my time and wastes it easily.

Thiruselvam K ∙ 31 Aug, 10

TIME remains as and will always be 24 hours and the WORLD is still the same old globe, with mankind's destruction of its natural environment. Mankind has changed styles of living; his and her innovativeness has brought speed and acceleration. Mankind has put pressure upon himself and society for INSTANT results. A terrible sense of rush pervades us all the time and societal pressures upon us leaves us with little time to DO IT ALL. Jolly Princess said it well, manage time or you will end up as victims if time managing you.We are slaves to technology. Change is fast and when we do not change,we become victims, and when we change we become slaves. Make the best decision and do the best you can in a prioritised manner to make the best of your life.

I would like you ppl to read a short story called "TOMATO STORY" in Jyotsna's blog...
http://jyotsna-collectionofshortstories.blogspot.com/

Jyotsna ∙ 1 Sep, 10

thank you so much saif for recommandation :)

Moonomo ∙ 31 Aug, 10

Checked out the story and I've opposite concept. I'm not going to write similar story about the positive side of internet (for example some individual makes billions).

It reminds me the invention of the Aircraft. Before it invented people laughed about it and so many inventor spent whole life for it. After the invention it used heavily in first two world war. Still people are glad and traveling to continent to continent regular basis. Those people know how it saves their lives who reach the hospital on time due to the air-ambulance.

There always good and bad with technology and people who loves the changes. And there are people who loves to ignore it.

Jyotsna ∙ 1 Sep, 10

hi moonomo, thank you so much for visiting my blog :)
Hey this story is not against the technology..neither it says anything positive or negative about internet. There are many ppl still not so comfortable with internet or any such new technologies..this story may boost their confidence and give them hope n encouragement that internet is not the solution to our life..v still can achieve what v want with hard work.

Infact I too admire and appreciate new technologies n inventions and believe in learning all.

Moonomo I agree with ur views and comments. thank you so much. U r simply great on talk !

Moonomo ∙ 1 Sep, 10

I took the story as fun and guess my reply missed that! Thank you for your nice comment. ;)

I've missed the point that now a days people start thinking that may be internet is the 'only' way to achieve big success where it could be anything online or offline- right? Whatever the industry it takes hard work and lots of effort.

Those days people hardly take Internet as a industry!
