Here's the thing. I've been blogging for a while, and I get a little traffic, but no new followers or comments. I admit that maybe the topics I choose for entries aren't the most interesting. Does anyone have any ideas for topics or techniques to create more interest and traffic?
I've only been blogging since 11/12/12, but I accumulated enough followers with my quality written posts. I will add you to my recently published blog directory page. You can find this here: http://wp.me/P2TeFs-uv. I hope this helps. You were listed under, "Lifestyle » Fashion."
As far as the posts, they are very interesting. You just need more promotional outlets for your blog. Join different social networking sites to maximize your publicity. :)
Personalising & individualising your blog helps, literally pour your heart into it, people love it. To individualise your blog mix your posts up with humour & fact but be careful not to make fun of something close to people’s heart.
You said an important thing here " I admit that maybe the topics I choose for entries aren't the most interesting".
From your own statement, you can help yourself by choosing topics that you feel are interesting or that you are passionate about. We can all give you topics to write about, but if you have no interest in it, then it will be seen in your content. Hope this helps a little.
I may not have chosen the best wording there. I find myself blogging about the same things over and over again, and feel that maybe my readers are getting bored. Most of my posts are, I bought this, I painted my nails like that and so on. I'm looking for ideas for topics, and ways to promote my blog more.
Ok, and I seriously hope you don't mind me saying this. I just had a look at your latest post 'Today's face'. You showed before and after photos, you informed us what you used. Told us how you got the make-up, then told us 'that's it'.
Even if I was someone who had an interest in make-up or fashion, it's a post I don't feel I need to comment on because it is based on you giving us factual stuff and leaves no room for anything else (in my humble opinion). It was complete, so to speak.
I think I have said this before to other fashion/beauty bloggers who asked:
1. Why don't you find out if anyone else has used the products and what did they think about it? Others may have tons to say because the product was brilliant or terrible.
2. Ask your readers of where these products can be purchased at reasonable prices. You may have paid £30 for an eye shadow in Debenhams, but maybe someone might know that you can buy the exact same thing much cheaper if you shop in Lidl, as an example.
3. Find a products you are passionate about and get people involved. Ask questions.
I think you get the gist of what I'm saying, but I always say that I'm no expert, just going on what I've seen. And what I have said, may not even work. You need to get the reader involved with what you are doing or saying.
I don't mind you saying this at all, after all, i asked for helped.
i have in the past asked my readers similar questions to what you are suggesting and getting no response made me feel a bit silly so i felt there was no point asking. i felt that with my latest post, readers could ask me about the products and how i got on with them, which someone did.
I feel that i've tried variations of what you are suggesting and got no where with it. Maybe i need to be more persistant and keep trying but it makes me feel a bit like gigving up.
@VivDFeatures, just checked your site again, and I made a mistake, you said " that's all" and I thought you said "that's it". My response would have still been the same, but thanks for not taking any offense.
Make the titles of your widgets and posts the same shade of pink as the blog title, so the colors match. Maybe add a sub-title to your blog, since as a newcomer I have absolutely no idea what the blog is about or why I should be interested in following it. Also, maybe cut some words from your "About Me" Blogger bio. It's a cute and catchy bio, but it seems to have some fluff that can be eliminated.
Overall, I like the hot pink / leopard print combo.
