i use social bookmarking service Vanani.com to have backlinks and higher page rankings..i submit stories which are likely to be searched on search engines on Vanani.com and BOOOOm...

today 78% of my traffic comes from Vanani.com alone and a few clicks from reddit.. :)

well..., submission only don't make the sense you have to submit articles which we think can work for us with it's keywords

FOR EXAPLE..

on my blog i was having a post titled "tom cruise teeth before and after braces"
which i submitted to vanani.com and it's listed now on first page of google is someone searches "tom cruise teeth before and after braces" this post alone got 1200 hits in 2 days.

I've found that the top two traffic drivers besides search engine referrals are blog hops and ads. I do a lot of free ad swaps with other bloggers who have blogs similar to mine, and I get about 10% of my daily traffic from that. Then, I get about 25% daily traffic from all the blog hops I participate in-you just have to find a niche, and google or look around for similar blogs that are posting in popular blog hops. Blog Love Therapy hosts a weekly one that is very popular, but isn't a blog hop for all types of blogs. But it's worth it to check it out!

I get LOTS of traffic for one blog by visiting a couple of forums that are in my niche and participating in topics where I know something about the subject. Always leave a link to your blog, or better yet, to a particular blog post that is relevant to the forum topic.

Hello Nishita! I believe that all depends on the content of the blog. If it is interesting for the general public or for specialized audience. Mine is about Naval History. So I'm not expecting high traffic from everybody. I have limited audience but faithfull. And that's is enough for me!
After all, this is my creation, which I love and gives me pleasure... why to be anxious?

Yeah my be you are right....

but when the blogs are new with very few content and are not crawled pretty much times a week...at that time social bookmarking sites are my first choice..

JUST because some nice bookmarking sites gets indexed by google every single HOUR....and even every HALF an hour.....so may be it's possible you'll be getting some clicks just after 5-6 hours...

Yes I agree ... Social networking is a great tool to generate traffic.. There is no need to worry much about SEO optimization if one has proper utilization of these social sites. Besides they are free....
