Hello people, i've been faced with this question for a while now and i've found no solution whatsoever. Why is it incredibly hard for people or followers to comment on a post even if its highly appreciated? And what can be done to encourage them to do this? Thanks for your opinion
Sometimes a post is very good but does not always require a comment, so many people may read it and have nothing to say at the end.
Have you tried reading other people's blog and leaving valid comments, or getting involved more with discussions etc.......? this may help. Have you also tried reading some of the technical blogs here, as they can also give you very good tips on blogging.
Make sure that you also always have good content, which is highly important as this will help to bring people back to read more......
Ask a question. Of course, that does not mean people will comment. I get comments on some posts and not get comments on others. I usually comment if I have something to say on the topic. But asking a question is a good way to let other's know that you want their thoughts.
when it comes to commenting people do comment where the article or post is interesting or you can say promising to comment on it. In other work you can write question in the bottom of the post so that people would take interest in commenting.
And most important thing is also providing that post to relevant visitors .

Comment other blogs! When the people comment on me, I want to comment them back!! :) You could also ask some simple questions in the end of your posts, that would inspire people to comment :)
If you ask interesting questions at the end of your posts, readers will answer back in the comments. Try to engage the reader's interest in your writing and genuinely comment on the posts of other bloggers. When bloggers see how you're trying, many will tend to reciprocate. Also, if you create a Facebook fan page as well as a twitter account, you'll increase your readership and in turn your comments. It takes time when you're starting out, but eventually your hard work will pay off. Don't give up! Good luck!

@AceKYD I am having the same trouble. I even ask questions and request comments in the post but of the some 700 hits I get a day I get at best 1 comment.
I think the problem is no one wants to be first. I am going to try having friends post some comments and see if that helps people to want to add their thoughts.
Maybe at bloggers.com we could all help each other out and comment on post.
