Believe the present, and do good. The future is now, that we prepared for yesterday. FREETHINKERS believe in themselves.

Religion is always a touchy topic. Pro mac users and Pro windows users are always thinking that their systems are better. Then someone comes up and says erm, I'm a Linux user and everyone goes "What!?".

I'm a freethinker myself. Does that mean I'm bad? No. I try my best not to harm people and have respect for all living things. The only time I kill is for food or survival and I do not restrict myself from any kind of food. As a freethinker, I believe that you need to work hard to succeed. No amount of praying actually helps. Any misfortune is simply by chance. If I die, I don't go anywhere. I'll just be unaware of whats happening like when I'm sleeping. This thought is scary to a lot of people.

Do I have an issue if someone has a religion? No. Just as long as people are not harmed in the process.

Humanity and justice.
What is religion?Where does it stand? Why were they made?Just for these two.
But I get upset when I see people are destroying these two for the sake of religion.Really shocking who says they r religious.

So far, this is the best answer! :)

It's not only related to religions. Free thinkers are people who are committed to knowledge but do not adhere to any system.
One can read philosophers, sociologists, psychologists or any other field and even be influence by some of these thoughts but without following the entire doctrine of any of these.
Other people's work is more like a source of helping thinking than giving answers.

But they still have something in mind which makes them believe in something and adhere to a system that either the existing one or newly created one.

As I said "any other field and even be influenced by some of these thoughts but not following the ENTIRE DOCTRINE of any of these."

I believe you are confusing thought with doctrines.
What do you mean by "adhere" and "system"?

Newly created? A doctrine? It's been a long time that nothing new is "created" in philosophy for example.
The work of thinkers do not aim creating a doctrine.

For religion usually a free thinker does not follow any and even believing in God none of the three big religions is followed or an other.

ChampDog ∙ 14 May, 11

Free thinker can believe in God too, IMO. That's why they're called free thinker. :)

You are right. I know a free thinker that is a catholic orthodox and many Jews that are free thinkers are avid reader of the cabala.
The most funny I know is a free thinker that loves astrology and reads his horoscope every day at the newspaper.
