I love the power of words, and the idea of sharing my own with the internet at large was an amazing draw.

What inspired me to keep going was the reactions of not only readers, but other bloggers, and finding communities of people, and new friends, and amazingly deep discussions.

Alvin Uchechukwu ∙ 19 weeks ago

Wow! That's a good one. Cheers

Sue McKay ∙ 13 weeks ago

I agree, that's how I feel about it too. The power of words, plus the responsibility it brings to have your words in print.

The reason for my blogging is.., i'm person with so many thoughts all messed up and I am very poor at speaking part. so I decided to write them and know the opinion of the people around me.

Alvin Uchechukwu ∙ 19 weeks ago

Thanks for the reply.

Teddy ∙ 16 weeks ago

From my past talks with you, your thoughts are NOT messed up because you have always been well planted in your thoughts and caring for others. A highly admiral quality

I love commentary on discussion on the video game industry, and I have great faith in the medium as an art form. I spent years taking in content, commenting on it, and discussing it with others. I started my blog to have an outlet for my thoughts and experiences on the matter, and to help me build my critical writing skills. I also like being able to contribute the culture that surrounds the video game industry, as often the culture that surrounds a medium is just as important as the medium itself.

Alvin Uchechukwu ∙ 19 weeks ago

That's right sir, keep up the good work.

Positive Fountain ∙ 19 weeks ago

Hi Alvin,
A few years ago I learned about positive thinking, the law of attraction and it changed my life. So I decided to share it with other people. I love writing and in my blog I write my stories, also positive quotes, the law of attraction and things I've learned.

The best part is, I've realized how much I love to write and now I have 4 blogs.

Dusana :-)

Alvin Uchechukwu ∙ 19 weeks ago

That sounds quite interesting. I'll love to visit your blog cos I love to learn.
Thank you Dusana

Greg Johnson ∙ 18 weeks ago

I too was inspired to write by positive thinking. I've watched the law of attraction and it has worked somewhat for me.

Well, a few months after I graduated from the University of Connecticut with a B.A. in Political Science, I started feeling academic withdraws. I was deprived from writing research papers, while I was also deprived from finding love. I thought about writing a romance novel. First, I wanted to build a community of hopeless romantics through a blog.

I started blogging about love and relationships. Now, approaching my second month "blogiversary" tomorrow, I reached 3,500 email subscribers. I love helping others without Cupid's help. I am not just a regular blogger either! On average, my blog posts can range from 1,000 to 2,500 words.

Now, time to find a career to pay off these student loans!

Alvin Uchechukwu ∙ 18 weeks ago

Splendid...keep up the good work. Thumbs up

Random Dysfunctions ∙ 18 weeks ago

I used to bottle up a lot of my thoughts. So I turned to blogging as a way to talk about the things I sometimes I can't say out loud in a public setting. Blogging is my way of saying "WTF" to life's random dysfunctions.

Luizatheblogger ∙ 18 weeks ago

I just felt I had something to say and the blog seemed like the best idea to share it :) It's fun to write and create something and not just read. It's nice to bring your own contribution.

Alvin Uchechukwu ∙ 18 weeks ago

That's right, blog is a great media to share our ideas, opinions, thoughts and experiences.

Amy Pollard ∙ 18 weeks ago

My blogging grew out of my passions. I love watching movies, so I started Bite Size Movie Review blog. I love reading and writing poetry, so I started Brevity Poetry Review, where poets can submit.

Alvin Uchechukwu ∙ 18 weeks ago

@Amy Pollard, wonderful inspiration. Kudos

SaifFarooqi ∙ 18 weeks ago

I love writing and like to explore ideas. I also feel that people who don't study psychology need to know about it more compared to those who formally study it. This is all what got me into blogging. I have a lot of excitement in sharing ideas and blogging helps me in doing this also.

Alvin Uchechukwu ∙ 18 weeks ago

That's wonderful, Keep it up.

Patricia ∙ 18 weeks ago

I've gone through my life feeling invisible. I felt that because some had written me off that everyone would. I had plenty to say but didn't speak what was in my heart because I believed no one would listen. But....I was blessed two years ago to hear a dear friend speaking on whose responsibility is it that your message is understood? Is it the speakers or listeners responsibility? That night I realized that I had no right to complain that no one ever listened to me if I was unwilling to speak. So, before the night was over I had started a blog and I've been blogging ever since.

Alvin Uchechukwu ∙ 18 weeks ago

It is the responsibility of the speaker indeed. This is the kind of inspiration I've been looking out for.....cheers Patricia

Sasha ∙ 18 weeks ago

I was inspired to start a blog by my daily writing goal in hopes of growing as a writer. I was also inspired my need to fully express myself without any limits from my employer or family. Writing for me is therapeutic so free expression is beneficial for me and hopefully my readers who may be able to relate.

Alvin Uchechukwu ∙ 18 weeks ago

Yes Sasha, blogging really helps in developing/improving on our writing skills.
Thanks for the reply, have fun.

I was inspired to start a blog by my drawings. I was inspired by many illustrators such as Kelli Murray, Takenaka etc. My drawings are still looked like children's drawing (maybe) but because of those illustrators, I'm inspired to practicing to improve my skills. I blog to record my progresses :)

Alvin Uchechukwu ∙ 18 weeks ago

I'll love to visit your blog and take a look at your drawings...However, it's good that you are doing what you have passion for. That's a good inspiration.

Epsita ∙ 18 weeks ago

'A Change'. This was my inspiration to start my blogs. As soon as I learned the art of 'positive change', in spite of dealing with humongous variety of problems, I decided upon expressing the 'value of possibility', through writing. There is always a good calm way to deal with people and problems for your own peaceful living.

I am a very quiet person, so thought writing would be the best way to reach minds and hearts and bring a positive change in their lives.

Alvin Uchechukwu ∙ 17 weeks ago

That's splendid, keep up the good work. Thumbs up

JuliaJulia ∙ 17 weeks ago

I simply wanted a chance to express myself and to write on my own terms. As a student my writing in college often needs to be in a particular style- I created my own blog in order to give me freedom.

That and the fact that I wanted to get back into writing for fun :)

Alvin Uchechukwu ∙ 16 weeks ago

Good...Kudos

Manny ∙ 16 weeks ago

I am fascinated by the concept of using social media as a way of telling stories. It's almost an evolution from the original story tellers of old who would travel and tell stories as they went!

Daniel ∙ 16 weeks ago

I started blogging because I really wanted a way to keep a record of my mind as a youth. I think about a lot of things and I live in a place where so much is happening. It'd be a shame to let these memories die or exist only in pictures.

It feels awesome to document what I'm doing. It kind of feels like I'm leaving a legacy. My stuff will be here long after I'm gone. It's also fun to be creative and meet new people who are doing the same thing.

Alannah Newnham ∙ 16 weeks ago

I suppose it has to be the fact that people around me don't care about me need to try and experiment with clothing and my individuality along side the idea that to be where I want in life a blog would be a brilliant chance for me to interact and start to build contacts if I gain recognition that is, which hopefully is achievable. Also blogging allows me to put my all my ideas, thoughts, feelings and inspiration down onto one page. All in all, it's quite unique. For a teenager obsessed with her laptop and internet, it all works quite well actually!

Plus i'm quite nosey so it lets me see what other people are interested and inspired by.. it's lovely.

Sapphire Diaz ∙ 14 weeks ago

What inspired me were funny people that knew how to write and deliver a good joke, like Allie Brosh's Hyperbole and a Half, among a few others. Before this inspiration, I had already considered creating a blog, but remained unsure because I didn't used to write a lot. By impulsively opening one on Blogger, I knew this meant creating new habits, like honing my writing and drawing skills. I'm a mad ninja.

Christine P ∙ 14 weeks ago

People are so judgmental these days...many just know your name and start judging you and simply put a label on your forehead. I have started a blog because I decided it was time for me to stop thinking so much about what others think and make this year about me and what i want to achieve. I want to try out something new, interesting ,beat my fears and fill my life with excitement, by sharing the little adventures i will go on in the summer and my writings as well as inspirations:) I thought a blog would be the best place you can share all these things on, because you get to know completely knew people who will hopefully not be so superficial . Adding to that its seems quite interesting to have your own site, I always thought blogging is probably like traveling around the world yet through your computer screen haha:) I'm not interesting in making money or any of that sort, i just want to connect to others and share my ideas , that's pretty much it:)
