That's one of the good point. I like to comment on other's blogs. This helps to understand myself and other fellwows as well.

i agree with Hatim, visit their blogs! I'd like to add up a lil to that, if you see their blog interesting, share it to your friends in diff social networks and follow that blog :D

I'd have to get comments first since I seem to be the blogger that writes uncommentable posts. But I'd say to visit the blogs of the people who are commenting at your blog and if you really like the blog subscribe to it.

Blogging is not just vomiting out whatever you've gathered. It is in fact a true community building and tightening relationship.

I'm not sure if you need to reward commenters. I don't like getting comments just for the sake of getting comments, that's meaningless and subsequently, it is meaningless for me to just try to write something on their blog in return. That's hardly better than spam!
Having said that, I generally reply to the comments I get on my blog and often create discussion there.
Here's a tip, if you want to get true comments on your blog, leave your posts open for continued discussion. Finish a post with a question or an open-ended point that leads to commentary. It's much more effective and rewarding than asking for comments and then "returning the favour".

That's great Tracy, I understand what you mean. Well I collected one negative view "Rewarding commenter is unethical". May I summarize it like this?

Still- I think it's kind of a manner to comment back who comment on your blog- unless they aren't spammy blogger- at least you should check 'em out- to find out.
I don't think when someone never check their commentators- they are worth to check back again. Even though I don't comment to get a comment back or visit back- ;)

I wont say it is "reward commenter" but keep connection with the readers. Are they blogger- how they are doing- that's what a blogger should find out from their commenter.
Specially- if they come from some social site you're been connected- get back to them on that social site- not only on your blog. Otherwise- it's just shame for the blogging attitude. :)
