Something that adds to the discussion is the best, but I enjoy all comments that aren't spam.

Moonomo ∙ 14 Aug, 10

Ya- comments that lead to conversation is the greatest one!

Jessica Sieghart ∙ 14 Aug, 10

I'm happy to get any kind of comment! A few years ago, commenting was the norm. Now it seems to be an exception. Except for spam. I'm not having any shortage of that!

Moonomo ∙ 16 Aug, 10

Ya- those days wasn't much spam and people talked more but may be that's because blog wasn't that much!

I guess you may need to communicate more with your readers. Give them reviews and comment on their posts- you'll get more eventually.

Sayyed ∙ 14 Aug, 10

ya its feel good to get comments like nice and gr8 nobody wants to get critisize.

Moonomo ∙ 16 Aug, 10

Criticism makes you better- 'gr8', 'nice' makes you feel better. ;)

Melissa ∙ 15 Aug, 10

I welcome constructive criticism. Since I've been writing my book, I've had to learn to deal with that sort of thing, so it doesn't bother me. I do love comments that lead to discussion as well. I like to write posts that get people talking about things.

Moonomo ∙ 16 Aug, 10

Great- that's the way it is! Woot! Woot! ;)

Jasmine ∙ 15 Aug, 10

I only have problems with spam comments, but since I had experience some time ago with people who left unpleasant comment using fake names or you can see the consistency in the use of words for different comments but different names, I don't reli appreciate that. Other than these, all comments are good!

Moonomo ∙ 16 Aug, 10

Those are done by marketers probably.

Aviation Blog ∙ 15 Aug, 10

I love comments that are on-point, have the ability to extend the conversation and possibly lead to the creation of a whole new blog post. I hate spam!

Moonomo ∙ 16 Aug, 10

Ya- Blog entries must be something to get comments like that. Happy blogging.

Cissydette ∙ 15 Aug, 10

i got no problems at all to any comments long as they're wholesome.. "nice" and "great" are okey.. longer comments are better actually.. i love reading longer ones. may it be criticizing or complimenting. for i believe that "good" criticisms build you up to betterment.. and "compliments" boost your confidence..:)

just don't be too harsh or unethical.. always live the "golden rule".. :)

Moonomo ∙ 16 Aug, 10

Right- golden rules are "the golden secret"!

Suraj Vibhute ∙ 15 Aug, 10

Now days many peoples are using comments only for getting some link backs. But its always good to have both types of comments.
I faced sometimes criticism but you know from that I learned how to handle these types of comments and which which mistakes I have not to repeat in future :)

Moonomo ∙ 16 Aug, 10

Exactly- that's why criticism I love to get- and the best is eventually they can't get the chance! ;)

One thing I like about articles is the comments, some are positive while some are utterly ridiculously negative. But they are worth a read as they often provide you an insight to things other than the article's focal point as well.

As far as my articles are concerned, I would be fine with any comments which are constructive in nature and the ones that would help me understand the readers better while giving me an opportunity me to connect with them as well.

In one of the articles of a fellow blogger here, he has suggested that comments be a good source of inspiration for your writing brain. That's actually sounds really awesome. I often think of penning down something that I have discussed/commented but never realized that I was actually taking inspiration from the same.

Just like this topic, I feel like writing on and on and on :)

Moonomo ∙ 16 Aug, 10

"Comments are the inspiration to every Bloggers" - you make me feel good too. ;)

Gwendolyn ∙ 16 Aug, 10

I like all comments except for the ones that have a lot of profanity like a person can't comment without the nasty language. I had comments on my myspace blog that I had to get nasty about then erase that comment from my blog and have all comments screened before going out on my blog.

Moonomo ∙ 18 Aug, 10

You know- that's why sometimes it's important to moderate!

Bindu ∙ 17 Aug, 10

comment tha t make me feel hmmmmmmm i m gud.....

Moonomo ∙ 18 Aug, 10

Nice to know ;)

NOBODY IS PRFECT IN THIS WORLD EXCEPT GOD

Moonomo ∙ 26 Aug, 10

Since you're a human- your statement may not be perfect. ;)

Right?

Aparna ∙ 28 Aug, 10

obviously a long comment! (haha) :D but also a thought provoking one.

Moonomo ∙ 15 Sep, 10

Yeap! Those are the great ones to get! ;)

Angie ∙ 15 Sep, 10

I love all comments, but the more thought they put into it shows me that they actually read my blog and thought about what I said. I realize sometimes people are in a hurry, but short comments can still be very thoughtful and I appreciate when people take their time to put in their 2 cents.

Moonomo ∙ 15 Sep, 10

Thanks Angie- I'm one of them who sometimes being in hurry while reading. ;)

Kitty ∙ 15 Sep, 10

all kinds of comment are welcome....but ppl hardly criticize n point out . ppl tend to tell only positive points. If they don't like certain things in blog they just keep mum... not to hurt or discourage..

Kitty ∙ 15 Sep, 10

Kitty ∙ 15 Sep, 10

oops ..sorry for using 'quote' moon :o ;)

Moonomo ∙ 15 Sep, 10

Why so? That's a great quote! I must say thank you for pointing out this- honestly I tend to point out weakness or faults but found few or many people hardly able to take it in right manner.

I've asked this question to find out what's really we are looking from our readers. I believe criticism makes us better. ;)

literarynobody ∙ 15 Sep, 10

I really like honest comments...criticism too. I am one of those people who doesn't like to be criticized lol but I have always learned to be better from it. The nice post comments are fine too. Sometimes that's all someone has to add.

Shahin ∙ 16 Sep, 10

I appreciate thoughtful comments having profound base.I like the comment which makes me think. No matter if it is criticizing. It would help me to be better. And of course appreciating comments will bring positive vibes which will give boost to me...

Aggie Enbella ∙ 24 Nov, 10

I don't know, Oms. I would appreciate a critique privately, to be sure, but I'll be honest with you, a public one would feel a little belittling. Just put me in stocks and hurl cabbages at my head.

Also, not everyone's 2 cents worth is worth the 2 cents. There's a few ignorant opinions (from people who think themselves quite clever) floating around in cyberspace. Do I really want to do the polite, "ok, thanks for your opinion" thing? Or even get into a debate about it? Not really ...

Karen Lopez ∙ 24 Nov, 10

the one that saying the truth!

Estephanie ∙ 25 Nov, 10

as much as I love to get comments "i really do", but I would love more to get comments that really emphasize that that person read your post... rather than great, nice, "with their link after"..
When people dont give meat to the comment i feel two things, just looking for a traffic back to the blog or they are back to reason one.. hehe

Balqis ∙ 25 Nov, 10

Any comment will do. Positive to boost my blogging, negative but constructive can help to detect the weaknesses I am in. Either way, it can benefit me. But there are times when the comments tend to be destructive, this is the type which will make me have a firm stand on what I write. I'll see it from my own perspectives with reasonings. A little argument would be good, too. :)

Soohow ∙ 11 Dec, 10

I normally will not approve spam comments. But I do read through spam comments that were caught by Akismet to see whether is a false positive.

How to see whether the comment is a spam?

First, see the website link they provided, if is from phone reverse service, replica, meds, loans, very highly those are spam comments.

Second, see the email address, a genuine commentator will normally provides a real email address rather than gjjjjeheheh@gmail.com.

Third, read the comment... very common now for human comment spammers instead of bot, people hiring them for backlinks. If the commentator's said something not related to the topic like (some examples):

~ Oh very nice topic, I benefit from the whole problem. (but my topic has nothing to do with program)

~ My spouse and I like your website very much and wish you could featured our site.

~ I have read and tweet your page, thanks.

Normally if a spammer got approved for his/her comment, you can see them start posting everywhere on your blog.

EGeeKBee ∙ 19 Dec, 10

compliments are always welcome as well as criticism

Parmitaborah ∙ 13 Jun, 11

I like it when people appreciate my work and provide suggestions on improving my blog

Priyanika ∙ 13 Jun, 11

truthful and to the point feedback.

EGeeKBee ∙ 13 Jun, 11

a truthful comment on how the reader found the article/blog post would be great! it doesn't matter if the comment may be in a form of praising, complementing, criticizing, or hating the post.
