Hi Alvin. I'm not sure that anyone would think my blog is "fun to read", although I think that readers will find it interesting. I write a lot about Hong Kong, which is where I live, but there are other blogs about Hong Kong, so I'm not unique in this regard, although you will discover aspects of the territory that you won't read about anywhere else.

However, there are two aspects of my blog that I haven't encountered in any other blog. The first is my audio recordings of birds, frogs and anything else that I think might interest my readers, and the second is my "abstract" photography. Here are links to two examples:

The two aspects you mentioned is actually the uniqueness of your blog. Kudos

I'm hoping that people find my blog interesting. Not sure if I would say it's unique though as I write about everyday things that may or may not effect people, but that I'm interested and passionate about.
I have my own writing style and love interaction and getting people to give their own points of views and opinions, so that we can all discuss the topic together.

I also try to keep it as a very safe space because many people have shared some intimate details about themselves freely, so I make sure that although points of views may be disagreed with, I don't tolerate anyone being verbally attacked on a personal level.

I'm always open and happy for anyone to visit and share their opinions on any subjects.

Great discussion Alvin.

Nice comment Rumpunch....I think your writing style is the ish.

I write about psychological issues. Through my blog, I make an attempt to spread awareness about many of such issues. I believe that the term "psychological issues" in itself creates some interest.

The kind of feedback that I have, so far, got for my blog gives me an indication that readers always get to learn something and at times develop a good understanding about themselves. When people write to me that my article has made them feel better about themselves or it has helped them to understand themselves in a better way and make them feel positive about themselves, there's nothing more satisfying than that.

I understand, I feel the same way when I get plenty and positive comments about any of my post, it's very encouraging. You must be doing quite a great job writing educating and yet interesting posts on your blog. Keep it up.

It's a visual entertainment, that lets a image do the explaining with that tiny bit of text combining with food... yummy?

For some reason I have discovered that the things I enjoy writing about, and the subjects are very varied indeed, tend to interest other people too. Diversity is, for me, the name of the game as well as looking at what people read, what people are searching for and meeting those needs.

Alvin Uchechukwu ∙ 17 weeks ago

I'd rather call it 'Customer Satisfaction'...lol. But seriously we should see our readers as our customers and treat them like one...by finding out what they really want and once we give it to them, they'll sure come back(but this time with friends and family)...but however, we ought to bring in our own unique flavor/concept and create a niche. Thank you Viktoria for that wonderful comment. You must be on top of your game. Thumbs up.

I hope mine would be interesting to people who like gaming, or even have a passing interest in the games industry. At this point, my blog isn't completely unique, as there are a number of aspiring games journalists doing similar articles, but I hope to start to find my voice and develop my own niche.

What I really enjoy, that less people seem to be doing, is digging deeper in to games to find some core ideals, principles, or hidden messages, putting out theories about the games industry, and responding to controversy. I just published a post regarding violence in video games, responding to some of the fire the games industry tends to take surrounding tragedy. It was probably my favourite post to write, and was very cathartic, by virtue of being a point I'm very passionate about.

That's great! Rob.

G'day Alvin

Wacky ideology………certainly outside the square thinking.

Alvin Uchechukwu ∙ 17 weeks ago

Hmmm, first of all, I want to commend you for your reply to Mogan...you said you write for yourself, but that's in the case of personal blogs. But in any other case(like entertainment, media, lifestyle bloggers etc), I think our audience/readers should be put into consideration while writing a post.
Thank you Mathew

Patricia ∙ 17 weeks ago

My blog is about me. I know that sounds so wrong (lol) but that's what makes it unique. It's about my faith, my experiences, my thoughts ... about what I've learned and am learning along the way. It's about why I do what I do. It's about giving others hope and encouragement... and so much more.

Alvin Uchechukwu ∙ 17 weeks ago

That's interesting Patricia

Teddy ∙ 17 weeks ago

To be honest, My blogs are not interesting. They are for the most part , my little life history's from my past and personal opinions which do not make them right, but are just opinions. But that doesn't bother me . It's like being on tv without worrying how I look.

Alvin Uchechukwu ∙ 17 weeks ago

Blogging about yourself makes your blog unique cos there's no other you in the whole world. Speaking your blog not being interesting? I disagree with that cos you never can tell who is enjoying your posts out there. Just keep blogging cos one day someone will thank you for sharing your experiences and how interesting he/her finds your blog. keep it up

I've had my blog for about two months. Why would you think I have over 3,500 email subscriptions? Well, love doesn't cost a thing, but it sure is marketable! I love connecting the hopeless romantic community together without Cupid's help. I provide advice on everything you could imagine.

There's an article about no strings attached snuggling to keeping it strong through a date full of halitosis! I am here to provide everything and anything, as long as it grabs their attention. I also have a suggestion option. If my viewers wanted to submit a blog post suggestion, let them! I'll publish it the next day! It's also a great way to promote their blog as well.

I am also interested in making a blog directory on my page to list different blogs for different categories. If someone wanted to follow a weight loss blog, they can easily search it on my blog. This is not only to promote others, but to continue providing the help everyone deserves to have. I am not going to write about everything over one night, but it helps when there are resources available. If you are interested, fill out in the form on my suggestion page at http://wp.me/2TeFs.

Here are my statistics as of 01/12/13:

Final Monthly Word Count

In the month of November, I have written a total of 2,588 words.
In the month of December, I have written a total of 23,029 words.
In the current month of January, I have written a total of 11,937 words.

In two months, a total of 37,554 words melted your heart!

Monthly Post Averages

November (6 posts): 431.33 words per post
December (25 posts): 921.16 words per post.
January (12 posts): 994.75 words per post.

So, if the length isn't too long to follow through, the quality must be great! Yes, precisely right. I use my four year degree for something while I find employment. I might have had a long day, a few grammatical errors, but that doesn't stop them from coming back.

Connect, engage, and excel together.

Alvin Uchechukwu ∙ 17 weeks ago

Wow! Your reply is quite detailed. I'm pleased to hear/know how far you've gone and how much you've achieved in just two months. That's interesting. Kudos

Phil Holtberg ∙ 17 weeks ago

Without being long winded here I feel a blog has to be fun, creative, and be engaging to keep the interest of the reader. It also has to convey the writer's inner person and be real. No one wants to read something that seems as if a robot wrote it. No one one will stay with a blog if it is just a promotional tool to gain followers and house a million ads on it. I'm not in it for that, as I jut want to have a way to express my goofy thoughts, fun times, and life here in NYC.

My blog is more about my life adventures, experiences, and pratfalls of living in NYC. It's me, warts and all, and I write my posts as if you are hanging out chatting with a friend, funny and otherwise.

Alvin Uchechukwu ∙ 16 weeks ago

Hi Phil, I like your style, it's interesting. kudos

Kelli Shea ∙ 17 weeks ago

Nothing.
I am completely ununique (this isn't a word) and uninteresting (this one is though), but life, itself, is always unique AND interesting.

Alvin Uchechukwu ∙ 16 weeks ago

Yes Kelli, life is unique and interesting. But why do you think that your blog is uninteresting? I'd like to know. Cheers

TheMardiGrasGirl ∙ 17 weeks ago

My topic is unique, not that many blogs that cover Mardi Gras like mine! Yeeeaaaah!

Alvin Uchechukwu ∙ 16 weeks ago

That's thoughtful of you. Keep it up.

Shelley Bryan ∙ 16 weeks ago

My blog is about finding happiness despite living in poverty. I share the ways my 3 sons and I manage to find the joy in each day even without money. I am hoping to do reviews someday of different things that make boys and (single) nerd moms happy.

Come visit me http://shelleysallofmeblog.wordpress.com/

Be sure to check out "My Story" page....and don't forget the tissues!

Alvin Uchechukwu ∙ 15 weeks ago

It's good to do what makes you happy no matter the situation you find yourself in. Keep it up Shelley Brian.
