What you've learned from travel

AdventuresWeSeek on Travel, Advice, Backpacking, Budget, Culture, Lessons

My husband and I have just been added to Bloggers.com. We are very excited to be posted here.

We noticed how many people and writers are associated with Bloggers and would like to know what life lessons and knowledge you have gained from traveling.

If anything, we have learned to respect, be tolerant, be patient and expect nothing to go as planned :)

Do check out our site to see more of our travels and adventures as living as expats in Asia.

Basically, we learnt to make new friends in places we go to, to understand more the culture and tradition of a people in a certain area, and to live life to the fullest. :)

So true! So often when we travel we go into it alone not wanting to ask questions etc..but when we meet friends, it totally adds to the experience!

Most people take 2-3 week vacations (except the Europeans!) in a year and they go to resorts or all-inclusive hotels. That was never my style. I always liked to visit other countries and stay as long as possible and maybe just in one place. That way I always made friends with the "natives" and discovered insights into their lives and culture and language, which I find far more rewarding. That's why I eventually became an ex-pat here in Costa Rica. This vacation is 3+ years and counting! :)

Very excellent blog by the way, voted, following, Liked, and following your Tweets. Please give my blogs a visit when you have some time.

Pura vida,

Casey

Casey, Costa Rica! That was Adam's first trip out of the US. We went for 10 days with only a map. It was a great trip, a beautiful country and fantastic food. We only made it to the west coast but someday we will be back and hit the east.
Thanks for your kind words. Will follow you as well. Can't wait to read all about your experiences in Tico Country!

Be open to new experiences, new food, new drinks, and it's okay to get wild in the Caribbean
