When did you decide it was time to upgrade to a dot com address? Why did you make the upgrade?
If you still use a wordpress or blogspot url, are you thinking about upgrading?
I currently have a blogspot.com url. I've thought about upgrading, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to start paying for it.
I've never used blogspot and only quickly glanced at wordpress.com as a possibility. The fact that wordpress works so wonderfully as a standalone convinced me, and viktoriamichaelis.com just happened to be free so....
...and I don't regret it for a moment. Sure, a little bit extra expense, but I can do (almost) whatever I want and have a good deal more freedom as a result.
I decided to turn my blog into .com when I saw my visitor stats.
I found out it would be easier for my visitors to remember when it was .com
AND I bought the domain through Google - paid 10USD - no servers needed or additional webhosters.
I also pay 2.50USD per month for 25GB of additional storage.
Because of Gmail and Picasa I got over 30USD if I remember correctly.
blogger.com is recommended by me!

I've only been blogging for about two months, but it was shortly after the 2nd month blogiversary when my blog received a domain upgrade. I figured I should have the new upgrade to make it more professional for my 3,500 email subscribers.

i upgraded the moment i started the blog. it just seemed more professional and so i wanted to start out that way. i think it's personal perference really but that's why i choose to do it. thanks.
