Why should you add friends on Bloggers?

Beyond The Secret on Blogs, Blogging, Facebook, Future, Trends, Prediction

We all know Bloggers is a great new site for us with amazing database capabilities!

I would venture to say that as a blogger connected to this site, you are one of the newcomers, an early adopter so to speak. You can see that there are less than 50,000 blogs signed up to bloggers as I write this (please correct me if I am wrong!)

Let's try and predict the future direction of this site for a moment.

First, it is not hard to predict that the capabilities will increase and it's connectivity will improve over time. That is, you will likely become more seemlessly connected to your other online sites a la google & facebook.

Now if I recall, when Facebook first started to become popular you could add as many friends as you like. It was not uncommon to see users with multiple "identities" each having over 1000 friends. You could simply click, click, click and add 50 friends in a couple of minutes. This is no longer possible!

Terms of service for Facebook now dictate a single identity and only allows adding suggested friends in moderation. Add more than 2 unknown friends in a row and your account will be temporarily disabled from adding friends. Of course Facebook has valid reasons for wanting to control and direct the user experiences for the benefit of the majority; enough said about facebook.

What about Bloggers? In the future you may be able to broadcast info to your friends, birthday invitations, event announcements and so on. Bloggers will want to improve functionality while controlling abuse at the same time; it only a natural progression.

My advice and prediction?....make as many friends as you can now, like, follow and connect with as many people as you can NOW early on in the growth of Bloggers. Your future value online will be measured in large part by your influence...build that influence now respectfully and sensibly and you will benefit down the road.

Let me know what you think?
Do you agree?
Any predictions for the future of Bloggers or the Internet in general?
I would love to hear from you! :)

Yeah... "Bloggers" enable bloggers to find interesting blogs and make new friends. It will improve connectivity over time... It may add up more social features too... But bloggers mostly came here to promote their blogs, make new friends and engage with other interesting blogs. So Bloggers may need to maintain main objectives in addition to implementing social features. People like to be voted, be followed and be featured... People may add friends as much as possible... they will vote or follow other bloggers... On the one aspect these features could be misused, But mostly people may obey first impression on other blogs...

I think, Bloggers may take consider about rewarding blogs in respect to each category after reviewing their blogs and content or through nominations... So people may more consider about their blog content and quality. In addition all people here may able to find more and more quality blogs and as publishers, all of 'em will specifically consider about their content too. I think if Bloggers set some quality goals for bloggers around here, they all will work on it...

Just my ideas... :)

Cheers...

Hi Jorge,
not sure what you mean by "it's cliche"?? Are you saying this has been mentioned before? No doubt but a cliche usually refers to a tired out, over used phrase so maybe you are thinking of something else. Anyway, thanks for the feedback!

what i'm trying to say is that everybody knows the answer to your question.
