Why most people here using Blogger Insted of WordPress

Sadek says 225 days ago

I noticed that most of the bloggers here are using blogger platform.
Why don't you all try WordPress.
WordPress is a powerful Platform and it provides Much Much better SEO and Design control on your blog than Blogger.
Blogger is not at all a good platform in SEO point of view.
Blogger is totally HTML based whereas WordPress uses Php
Blogger is free you can also get free WordPress blog at wordpress.com
But still Here at bloggers.com Most of the bloggers use Blogger as blogging platform.

I have a blog at Wordpress. What can I say? I requested info on how to widen it, move things around, etc. and the email I got back told me to upgrade to a paid site if I wished to do those things.

Blogger lets me do them for free.

Case closed.

blogspot.com is easy to understand and easy to use..
where as wordpress requires much more time to understand as it is complex..

i mean, for a complete newbie like me, wordpress requires hours to come up with a nice template where as the same can be completed with in minutes in blogspot..

agreed seo and all, but who cares of seo for a personal blog ?
professionals need to worry about it.

to get traffic, friends and social networks are more than enough for personal blogs.

all the best :)

I started with Blogger because it was so easy and stuck with it. I'm like the guy that marries the first woman he dates.

No other blogging platform can't compete Wordpress. Wordpress just awesome, easy to use and update even more control on everything you want to customize.

I love wordpress.

I started using blogger in 2007. I just picked one of the 2 sites without knowing that much about either. Anyway I'm still using it. It works for me.

I am using a free wordpress.com account.
I have seen a lot of blogger/blogspot-hosted blogs and they're just to cluttered.
I like the minimalist approach of wordpress.

Pratik Thorat says 137 days ago

I have used free blogger platform, a self hosted WordPress platform and also a WordPress.com platform.

What I have found is blogger is best for the non-technical persons who blogs for fun, talking about the self hosted WordPress no doubt its the best blogging platform ever made but its not free of cost you have to give something for it.

And I will never recommend a WordPress.com blog to any one because they do not give us anything for free. The list is very large and will post it here if any one wants it.

At the end I will say if you are a newbie then go for blogger as you grow you can think for WordPress.

Why don't we all try WordPress? Because if it ain't broke, you don't fix it.

All the people I 'meet' who try to convince other people that WordPress is better are trying to sell services or hosting or something.

I personally react badly when I feel people are just trying to sell me something.

The question should be: when do you need to use WordPress...or Drupal...or Joomla? If I were trying to sell those packages, or my services to those packages, to other people, that's what I'd be trying to answer.

Victor Stanescu says 137 days ago

Because Blogger looks easier for non tech people..

I can see no reason why someone would choose blogger and loose the flexibility of WordPress except the lack of knowledge and skill...

I do have a WordPress account but I came to Blogger first. I like its simplicity.

I had two quite OK sites before that a friend made for me but couldn't look after them. He gave me all the PWs and showed me the "how to's" but just couldn't make them run properly. I've been paying for domain names and other stuffs that I don't really understand their use or purpose for years and just a few hours ago, I finally cancelled all my other sites and will be sticking to Blogger.
Before I also tried using WP and Drupal but the default themes on Blogger is a lot sweeter. Blogger themes are very user friendly, no sleepless nights and no hair pulling... it just works and is bulletproof :)

Everyone has their own preference on what they want to use. What might be better to one might not be to another. I think respecting what others like is best. I use Wordpress and it suits me fine. Use what you want and be happy with it.

At the end of the day it's you doing all the hard work to keep your blog alive. Do your thang and have fun!

Firstly, Blogger is cheaper. Secondly, more people started off using Blogger as a blogging platform and has yet to make the "big" switch. In addition blogger is much more easier to navigate. But I've taken workshops on SEO and WordPress in regards to my freelance career and I will say that WP is a lot more SEO friendly than Blogger. Blogger should seriously consider getting an all-in-one SEO pack and a few new templates! Ugh, I'm not a big fan of the new dynamic views...

Wordpress is very powerful blogging platform. But is always better to start with a blogger. And we can easily move our blogger blog to wordpress.

Wordpress' only advantage is PHP. Blogger's the pioneer. We've had our blogs before Wordpress was created.

When you think of blogging, what comes to mind is blogger.
Blogger is simply the best.

@UFeud ... wordpress is free, and free hosting is very common nowadays unlike 10 years ago.

Rob Dares says 128 days ago

I am both a blogger user and a self hosted wordpress user. Blogger is easier to use, especially for newbies. I always found it very intuitive to use, and has lots of features ready to use out of the box, and it's free. You can also use adsense on free blogger blogs, but not on free wordpress blogs.
However, if you are serious about blogging and don't want to be at the mercy of Google, self hosted, paid wordpress is the way to go. Plus, it is fairly easy to use once you get used to it and learn the basics.
As for the oft touted marvels of seo on wordpress, I found that a good blogger blog with lots of content and keywords got just about as much traffic as wordpress, so I am not completely convinced that wordpress is better for seo. What wordpress does is give you a little more control of your seo, which some folks believe is important.
That's my opinion.

Blogger is easier.

Andrelle says 110 days ago

1. Blogger is easy to understand
2. You can customize template as much as you want
3. Blogger and Google has some sort of relation, this entails allot of benefits
4. Somehow i don't think WordPress would be able to hold up for very long with giving away all these free stuff. Were are there earnings coming from?
5. Blogger is just awesome

DylanJames says 110 days ago

I can't knock either, both are great platforms with equal benefits, I just prefer to use Wordpress. To me it is easier, has great SEO capability and plugins are quick and easy to integrate. I guess it is all about personal preference. Just my opinion.

JBangin says 110 days ago

3. Blogger and Google has some sort of relation, this entails allot of benefits

Google made Blogger, and not out of the kindness of their hearts. They did it as a business move, first and foremost.

It's funny that the world most popular search engine, that made Blogger, has terrible SEO. The only way this would be possibly, is if it were intentional.

Blogger would have amazing, natural SEO, if that's what Google wanted. They don't. That doesn't make them money.

What would you say?
