WordPress versus Blogger for Free blog?

Harish Sharma on Blogger, Versus, Wordpress, Which Is Better, Free Blogging, Blogger Or Wp

Friends, Most of You must have tried the both, but through this discussion I want to know according to you which is the best platform for free blogs (those with .blogspot.com or .wordpress.com ) : wordpress or blogger? I have tried both and I think blogger gives you full features to do whatever you want to do with your blog but with wordpress.com blog you can't even add scripts and adsense ads and there are much limitations also.
So what is your pick of the two and why?
P.S.: I would want to you to check my two blog (one is at blogger while other is at wordpress) and review them too!

Tried them both also, I suggest blogger is better than wordpress.com, because I can customize it more than wordpress.com which has its own limits

.blogspot is much better. It is much more flexible and you could do a lot more stuff with your .blogspot blog than you can do with the .wordpress.com blog. You can even monetize your blogspot blog without paying a dime from your pocket.

I agree with both of you... that is what I think too. But if anyone knows, are there any ways to monetize a wordpress.con blog?

Key importance -Everything has its own importance! wordpress help u wid gud templates and self hosting..... where as blogger mostly help the user wid indexing the site easily as its owned by google!

I tried both but in the end I choose blogger as I found it easier and that I wouldn't be ripping my hair out every few seconds lol

But in the end it is what you find comfortable in using so I say take your time and try out both before choosing ^^

Well, it's basically control over simplicity. Wordpress gives you a bigger reign on what you can use the blog for, but it can be complicated.

Blogger is super-straight forward, but you don't really get much choice on what you can do. If it's just for writing, then maybe Blogger : )

I personally use Wordpress....you can have a look http://www.mytravelaffairs.com

Sorry to say but all Blogger blogs look very much alike! And they have a very annoying commenting system.

Harish Sharma ∙ 25 weeks ago

you have bought the domian name for the blog, so it is not a free .wordpress.com blog. In free wordpress.com blog, there are not enough features and control over what you can do with the blog, apart from theme options and good commenting options. You can't even display Adsense ads. Blogger gives you almost complete access to all the third-party tools or scripts.

Why would you even want to use Adsense? It brings almost no money and only make your page look awful with all those adverts....and I use a free Wordpress.....I have the name of the domain for many years...it is mine, I use normal Wordpress, I didnt pay even a penny for using it, I have just registered and thats it....

I prefer wordpress. As Tom said it can be more complicated but I like the wide range of plug- ins and user options. It takes a while to learn. Plus, I think I like the commenting system better as Travel Affairs mentioned.

Wordpress is a much better platform. Although to have complete control "customization" wise, you need to know how to code in php, html, and have knowledge in CSS. Not to mention you also have access to their support staff.

PixeledMe ∙ 25 weeks ago

Don't misunderstand what I am saying, you don't have to have any knowledge of css, html, php etc to use Wordpress, but in order to customize your theme / template completely you will need to understand how to code, otherwise its just a matter of choosing a nice looking theme, dragging and dropping the widgets and installing the plugins :)

are you talking about wordpress.org installation for paid hosting sites or free wordpress.com blogs? Can we edit or add custom built theme and custome the same in freely hosted wordpress.com blog?

Harish Sharma ∙ 25 weeks ago

But Blogger themes and commenting options are not of the level of that of Wordpress! agree?

Ashwin ∙ 25 weeks ago

if you buy themes for blogger so you will get better than Wordpress or you can design your own the and you also add Discus comment bar for commenting options.I have added Discus comment bar on my blog.

Ashwin ∙ 25 weeks ago

I am Agree with Harish Sharma because Google gives all thing in free and we earn without spending money on theme of blog , hosting sites Google do this all in free.
