Wordpress vs. Blogspot

Bekka on Wordpress, Blogspot, Blogging, Help

Hi guys,

I'm sort of new to blogging. When I say sort of, I've started many blogs in the past but I'm really determined to keep up to date with the one I have now. My problem is that I don't know whether to host on Wordpress or Blogspot. I have two blogs, one hosted on each, with duplicate content because I can't decide.

To me it seems as though Wordpress is more professional, but blogger has a better audience. I'd be grateful for any opinions.

Thanks,

Bekka

Blogger. because it is totally free.they only charge if you want to get domain name. which is 10 dolars/year but wordpress seliing templates plugins everything. So if i will spend money i can make my own static website why should i use wordpress?

Wordpress is better and more professional and it easily boosts in ranking. But you will have to be ready to cope with plug-in problems if you are not an expert to using Wordpress.

On the other hand, Blogger is user friendly, easy to setup and customize but you will have to work out your SEO to get any recognition. Most blogger blogs have no listing and Google provides no help to boost it's ranking.

But I prefer Blogger cos I'm ready to work out my SEO personally. It so easy changing anything on Blogger.

Hi Ivan, thanks for your response.

I do like the professional feel of Wordpress, but I was literally looking around for hours to find blogs similar to my own. I hopped onto Blogspot and followed a ton of people straight away.

I guess the only thing I need to work on is SEO and exposure. At the moment I don't have any followers on Blogspot, but I guess it's part of the fun right.

Thanks! Good luck with working out your SEO.

Hi there, I thought about this for a long time as well and in the end decided on a wordpress blog. On a wordpress.org site you are the owner and it can’t be taken away. On other blogging sites “rules of engagement” can change at any time and you can lose all your hard work.
If you are just starting than a blogger blog could work perfect for you as it is user friendly. Personally, I've had no problem with either of them.
Good luck deciding.

Raquel,
I think I'll keep my Wordpress blog URL, but remain inactive. I'll use blogger for now I think. Thanks for your advice, you really helped!

My best suggestion is that people should go for Blogger, build on SEO, and backlinks. Blog followers, visitors or comments isn't the solution.
If your site is popular on search engines, visitors and followers would surely find your site.

HI Bekka

In my opinion both of these have their own benefits

Blogger is free of hosting hassles but doesn't provide much freedom in terms of URL structuring and hosting your own plugins

WP has the best plugins and can be extended into nearly anything (like a social network ,etc) but there is added cost as well as problem of hacking

So its fully up to you to decide

Hi,

I agree, both have pro's both have cons. In the end I've decided to go with Blogger as for now I think it is more beneficial for me to do that.

Thanks for the help!

for new bloggers, blogspot is the best... if you are a pro and have money, go for wordpress...
Start on blogspot, you can transfer later to wordpress if you have the right resources

Bekka ∙ 46 weeks ago

Hi,

Yeah I'm going with Blogger, like you said, I can transfer later if needs be.

Thanks!
