I decided to write down things that I've been thinking about in a blog. I try to write these from a place of serenity, where I am centered and outside myself.

To give you a better idea of where all of these ideas are coming from, I want to let you know what my outside influences are.  Of course, I have friends and spiritual gatherings that also influence me.  I do want to give credit to these sources so you can check them out if you are expanding your spiritual library.  Also, I want to acknowledge that most of my ideas are not original but are more a synthesis of these different sources.  Hopefully, I will help bring things together for you and then give you an opportunity to explore these sources more in depth if you prefer.

After experiencing some life events in early 2010, I began to question my current belief system.  I started with The Alchemist, which is an allegory that encourages you to follow your dreams a little before Christmas.  But things really got interesting when I began looking to others for the answers to my spiritual questions on a road trip a little before New Years Eve of that same year.  I listened to The Power of Now since it really is a practical, spiritual book that is really just the essence of a lot of spiritual teachings.  In this book, there is not a huge supernatural emphasis and it is palatable (although maybe questionable) by most religions.
